Q: What is a textpack file?

How to work with Tags?

Tags are one of the basic tools for organizing documents. When working with tags in Keepmark, you can start by defining a list of tags for a given workspace, or simply create them by assigning to documents right away. All tags assigned to documents will be visible in the application's side-bar, allowing you to quickly filter the list of documents to selected subjects.

The tags component in the side panel makes it easier to get to the documents you need at the moment. Over time the number of tags can be overwhelming, so the component is enhanced with a tag search engine and the ability to group tags as you wish. The view allows you to select multiple tags in a list - so you don't have to browse the list of documents for each tag separately.

Filter your tags list to find quicker what you need.
Click to see view options.

Edit tag

A single tag can have various properties. The most important distinction is its name, and that is the one assigned to documents or tasks. To make working with tags easier, you can assign it to a selected group. If you want to create a new group, simply enter its name.

You can assign keywords to tags. Keywords help in automatically selecting tags for a given document, or task. With keywords associated with a tag, Keepmark will make better suggestions for tags too when assigning them to documents.

Insert or edit tag name.
Type new or select existing tags group to assign tag to given group.
Insert additional keywords for tag.
Hover on items counter to see all linked keywords to given tag.
List of linked keywords.
Remove linked keyword from list for this tag.
Save changes.
Discard changes.

Select tags from Tags Component to display all documents with given tag.
Click tag icon to manage tags assigned to document.
See quick preview of assigned tags to document.
List of selected tags for document.
Add new tag to existing list (with suggestions of existing tags).
List of suggested tags from similar documents.
List of suggested tags from document content (based on the most popular keywords inside document). You can hover over it to see other similar variants of this tag.
You can add given keyword to ignores list if keyword is not important in current workspace.
You can select alternative versions of given keyword to add it as tag.

Don't waste more time editing tags in each document separately - by selecting multiple documents from a list, you can manage their tags in a faster way, and even assign tags to them automatically.

Select multiple documents on documents list and open context menu by right click.
Select Tags menu item to see haw you can manage tags for selected documents.
Edit tags for selected documents.
Auto assign tags to documents - in this option Keepmark will try to assign tags to selected documents based on existing tags and assigned keywords to it (comparing it with document content).
Remove all tags from selected documents.

On how many devices can I use the purchased license?

Accepted Answer

There is no limit for number of devices to run Keepmark for a single license.

I use up to 4 computers in my day-to-day life and I don't like licenses limited to the number of devices, so I do not limit my software in this way :).

The license is assigned to a given email address and you can easily use it on all your computers.

Question 4

How To Request A Refund?

Accepted Answer

If the application has not met your expectations, you can ask for a refund. You have 14 days from the date of purchase to do this. To request a refund, write to me at admin@keepmark.io. I will try to make the return within a few hours after receiving the message.

It will be very helpful if you write to me what caused the request for refund. This will allow me to know which aspects of the application I should focus on while developing it.

After the time to refund has expired, you will receive a second (unlimited) license by email. You can find out more about this in Why did I get the second key?

Question 5

Does the free trial have any limitations?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The Trial version is limited to 20 indexed tasks and 20 indexed documents. The limit is for a single repository. There is no limit on the number of repositories.

The limitation defines maximum number of indexed documents. When the limit is reached, the files are not deleted - it simply does not appear in the Keepmark, even though it is physically in this repository.

Adding files over the defined limit may cause that newly added/created files will not be visible in the repository.

Why are there such limitations?

It seemed to me to be the best and easiest way to limit the full functionality of the application for the purpose of presenting its features, without introducing additional mechanisms to the application that somehow reduce the privacy of users who have paid for the Keepmark's license (e.g. by verifying the license online at application startup).

How to add relations to selected document?

In Keepmark you can add relations for an existing document, to other documents, tasks, or people. This can be done through the side panel of an open document.

Search related document to add, and select it
You can add quick note as relation, by clicking (4).
You can paste URL in (3) to quickly add bookmark as relation.

How to work with activity feed?

Activity feed is one of dashboard widgets. It displays your recent activity within selected Workspace.

(1) - Here you can see latest activity in Workspace (from newest to oldest)
(2) - You can switch do "daily" view, where you can explore activities for selected date.
(3) - If documents or tasks are present, the link to it has a blue color - you can click it to quick open selected document
(4) - some links may be inactive (gray) - in this case documents weren't found in repository, so you can't click it.
(5) - You can log your custom events that happens during your work day (use shift+enter to add new line to note). Then you can switch do "daily view" (2) and for example report your custom events on daily team meetings.
(6) - You can also edit or remove your custom events.

How to work with External Tools?

In Keepmark you can configure other external tools to work with. Mainly, I can be other applications, or shell scripts run for the selected document. Before you start you should configure them in Application Settings.

Here on screen you can see configuration for Typora (which is a very good markdown editor).

Go to application settings
Select 'External tools'
On list you can see configured tools, with option to edit them or remove.
Here you add new External tool.
Select on enter location of external tool
Configure run arguments - usually we want to add file path as argument, but you can add also other parameters.
Add list of files extension to which this tool will be available

When you create External Tool, you can use it for selected files:
